These two quotes are more from Paul's letters to the churches he planted.
The Message translation for Colossians 3:14 is "And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It's your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it." I love that! The Message translation was done by Eugene Peterson of Regent College, a theological college here in Vancouver.
